Saturday Night Live is an American late-night live television sketch comedy and variety show created by Lorne Michaels and developed by Dick Ebersol. The show's comedy sketches, which parody contemporary culture and politics, are performed by a large and varying cast of repertory and newer cast members. Each episode is hosted by a celebrity guest (who usually delivers an opening monologue and performs in sketches with the cast) and features performances by a musical guest.



2017Edit

Harry Styles performed his songs Sign of the Times and Ever Since New York on the show on April 15, 2017. This was his debut live television performance as a solo artist. He also appeared in two sketches on the show.

2014Edit

One Direction appeared as the musical guest on the show on December 20, 2014, performing their songs Night Changes and Ready to Run. They also appeared in the "Girlfriends Talk Show" sketch.

2013Edit

One Direction appeared as the musical guest on the show on December 7, 2013, performing their songs Story of My Life and Through The Dark. They also appeared in the opening monologue of the show and in the pre-taped "Dan Charles" sketch.

2012Edit

One Direction appeared as the musical guest on the show on April 7, 2012, performing their singles What Makes You Beautiful and One Thing. They also appeared in a sketch called "The Manuel Ortiz Show".
